THE BEACH HOUSE RESTAURANT

We’ve spent more than a few golden brunches, lunches, evenings and company events at The Beach House, and it’s clear why it’s Grand Baie’s go-to for seafood and sunsets. The menu doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel; grilled calamari, king prawns and crisp, generous salads take centre stage, leaning Mediterranean with the occasional Mauritian flourish. Cocktails arrive with enough punch to justify lingering for a second round.

As if that wasn't enough, there's the best view of Grand Bay with tables that literally touch the surf at high tide. The tables inside along the rail and on the new second floor, look straight onto the bay, which on the right evening catches that metallic orange haze that turns every camera into an automatic masterpiece. Locals stake their claim early, and visitors quickly learn: wait too long and you’re stuck at the bar.

Weekends and peak season are reliably busy, so reservations are worth the effort. For those who love sunsets that linger, flavours that land and a table that makes the night feel effortless, The Beach House is the easy choice.
