Souvenir is the neighbourhood restaurant everyone wishes they had, only this one exists and it happens to be in Trou aux Biches. It's one of those places we cannot recommend loudly enough, simply because we've tried everything on the menu and nothing is second best! Tucked just on the corner of the main Trou aux Biches beach, it carries warmth where familiar faces return again and again, not out of habit but because the food, the service and the drinks genuinely deliver, consistently.

What we appreciate most is the honesty of the kitchen. Dishes arrive generous, flavourful and clearly prepared by people who care more about taste than trends. The octopus salad and chicken and shrimp curry (not on the menu but it should be) have become personal favourites, though we have yet to find anything that disappoints. Brunch feels relaxed, lunch is easy to settle into, dinner wins you over and even the desserts show proper attention to detail. The coffee also holds its own, which is rarer than it should be.

Service has that easy familiarity and the team remembers preferences, offers recommendations naturally and lets the experience unfold in true island style. The setting itself is modest, almost understated, yet that is exactly what makes it feel genuine. Souvenir is the kind of restaurant we point to when guests ask where locals actually eat, a place that proves hospitality and legendary on every recommendation.
