GOLF AT TAMARINA GOLF CLUB

Tamarina Golf Club quickly became one of those courses we still talk about long after the scorecards stopped mattering. Sitting at the foot of the Black River Gorge mountains, the layout uses the natural ridges, valleys and volcanic contours so intelligently that no two holes feel even remotely alike. This course is dramatic and challenging and wild, suiting her location on the West Coast.

We know that strategy governs every play for this sport but this course just took it to another level. Water features appear naturally in play, streams crossing fairways at just the right distances to make club choice super deliberate. Bunkers are bold and make honest men of us all, rewarding thoughtful placement rather than heroic recovery shots. Strong players find plenty to work through while newer golfers still enjoy the flow of the course without feeling overwhelmed.

Late afternoon here is particularly memorable here... As the sun begins dropping behind the mountains, the light shifts across the fairways and the entire course takes on that warm West Coast glow that makes lingering at the clubhouse compulsory. With fewer crowds than many northern courses, the pace remains stately, giving the experience a reflective rhythm that suits both serious players and relaxed holiday rounds.

Tamarina is the course we suggest when someone wants golf that blends landscape, technical play and a quieter atmosphere, a West Coast round that feels both rewarding and distinctly Mauritian.
